Chloramphenicol is used to treat bacterial infections and it works by killing bacteria.

Missed Dose

Side Effects

It is common to experience some temporary and mildly annoying side effects as the body adjusts to the new drug. These rarely require any special medical attention and usually fade away automatically.

These include mild diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting.

But, if they refuse to fade away or become bothersome, then seek medical attention immediately.

On the other hand, if you experience serious side effects like rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue; confusion; dark urine; delirium; depression; headache; fever, chills, or sore throat; pain, redness, or swelling at the injection site; symptoms of "gray syndrome" in an infant swelling of the abdomen, pale or blue skin color, vomiting, shock, difficulty breathing, refusal to suck, loose green stools, limp muscles, low temperature; unusual bleeding or bruising; unusual tiredness; vision changes.

Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any of these side effects.
